Brand Name Loyalty

Back when I was a kid in the 1940s and 50s (yes, I’m old) my mother had strong brand name loyalty.
Our cereal had to be from General Mills, never Kellogg’s. Soup had to be Campbell's, etc., etc. etc. Of course our milk was delivered from the local dairy and meat from the butcher in the store where she always shopped.

Does anyone else old enough to remember those years remember similar brand name loyalty by their parents, or was that something just normal to my mother?
